Today, March 31st was our first day of the technology class (ED270).
The first thing we did was signed and chatted with our neighbor about what our level of technology experience was, our names, a fun fact/ something interesting or unique about ourselves and what grade or age we wanted to work with. My partner was Brianna, she is a freshman, has typical experience with technology, is from Tillamook, wants to teach around 2nd grade and likes to sew, bake, plays instruments, and has traveled. We then had to go around the room and share the information we learned about our partners to the class. We learned about the teacher after everyone shared because he would share a personal experience or story related to the students who just shared.
After everyone shared he then talked about his life, what qualifies him as a professor, and his family.
The next thing we discussed was he showed us his website, and went over a few key parts of the syllabus, one being grades. He said that as long as we are here and working hard we should get an A. Also we shouldn't have much homework because we work on the projects or assignments in class.
The last main thing we did was look over a couple websites like Flickr, bighugelabs, and then we created a blog. I have never worked with, created or even have much knowledge about blogs. I find it a lot easier then I thought it would be and is quite interesting. I see how useful this could be in the classroom
Now that you found creating a blog not too difficult, the question will be how can you use a blog effective as a professional teacher, or professional anything, and as an individual. We'll work on that.
